JA Russia was represented by St Petersburg students Alexander Krasilnikov and Elena Andreeva of Team FISHKA, and Maxim Dernyatin (St Petersburg) as a member of multinational team CYBER-43.

FISHKA Team showed very good results and got the Honor Mention title of HPGBC 2002. Maxim Dernyatin and his MESE colleagues Fidel Martínez of Mexico and Mitko Sekulov of Macedonia captured the 2nd Prize. Congratulations!

In his speech at the Award Ceremony Maxim shared his JA experience and recognized the sponsors and organizers of the event. Later, on returning to his native St. Petersburg, Maxim wrote to The MESE Street Journal: "We had a wonderful week in San Diego. With a great organization of our trip and exciting places to visit the week became the best one in my life.

At present Maxim Dernyatin has an internship at Erasmus University of Rotterdam and will be graduating from Higher School of Economics in St. Petersburg when he’ll be back in few months. Let’s wish Maxim success!
