The 8th JA Russia Student Company Rally

on May 23-25 2002 brought together 19 teams of young entrepreneurs - top managers of student companies - winners of region contests held in the spring of 2002 throughout Russia.

The panel of judges comprised the representatives of the organizations that support JA Russia’s projects and programs. The evaluation of JA Russia’s students’ “business activities” included the following steps: Annual report, Company Presentation, Trade Fair.

The 8th Student Company Rally winners

“The Best Company Annual Report” - “Craftsman”, Cheboksary and “Relax”, Moscow.

 

“The Best Company Presentation” - “Smile”, Kazan and “Cinderella”, Tula.

 

“The Best Trade Fair Company” - “The Spirit of Ancient Uglitch” and “TV Business”, Vladivostok.

 

“The Best Overall Student Company 2002” - “Relax”, Moscow presented its product - web design and e-presentations.

“The Med olas” from Syktyvkar, Komi, “The Spirit of Ancient Uglitch” from Uglitch and the “Craftsman” from Cheboksary, Chuvashia were recognized with “Special Achievement” award.

  2. “ALEX”, Angarsk - Alexei Belyakov and Alexei Panas’kov and heir teacher T.N. Karasiova.

A Pilot “Simple Words” Essay Contest was held in April-May 2002.

The goal of JA Russia’s new project “Simple Words” Contest is to encourage Middle and High School students age 10-17 to express in writing their comprehension of simple words and concepts such as peace, war, nature, love, business, partner, friendship which have - for each student - personal meaning and motivational power. The Contest is also designed to help teachers to improve the teaching - learning process and employ the practical moral principles encapsulated in simple and common words, essential to all people worldwide.

The first contest winners were:

First place - Ivan Belyayev, Vologda, essay “Freedom”.

Second Place - Daria Varlamova, Pskov, essay “Fear”.

Third Place - Alina Yakovleva, Angarsk, essay “Friendship”.

The JA Russia’s Contest on occasion of the “Day of the Russian Writing Culture”

was held May 24th in Moscow. 15 regional teams presented their projects devoted to the celebration of he Day of the Russian Writing Culture in their native towns. In five short minutes the contest participants provided the audience with their understanding of the Russian history and culture and emphasized their recognition of Russia’s great traditions.

The winners were

“Smile” from Kazan - 1st prize;

“Craftsman” from Cheboksary - 2nd prize;

“Magic” from Voronezh - 3rd prize.
