Total JA Russia’s students reached 1 979 000 within December
1991 - December 2001 period.
The Third All- Russia Student Company Trade Fair in conjunction with the 10th
Anniversary of Junior Achievement programs in Russia was held January 15th 2002
in Park Place - a well-known business and residential complex in the south-west
of Moscow.

The National Final in Moscow brought together over 250
regional trade fairs winners of 29 regions of the Russian Federation. Student
companies of Kazakhstan and Kyrgysia attended the JA Russia’s national event for the first time.

Student companies’ business skills were evaluated by a judging panel
chaired by JA Russia’s founder Dr. Evgeny P. Velikhov. Other judges were
Anastassia Shkinina, Miscrosoft, Julia Mayoriva, Procter& Gamble,
Mark Dillen, US AID, Slava Roman, American Express.

The “Voltea” of JA Russia in Vologda region captured the
title of The Best Overall Trade Fair Company 2001. The product was a tea
ceremony, which “Voltea” regards as important for both a friendly talk and

The Best Overall Trade Fair Company “Voltea” will represent JA Russia at
the 14th Young Enterprise Europe (YEE) International Student Company Trade Fair
in Gateshead, UK, March 2002.

The trade fair was of great success. Student companies’ stands were visited
by Russian and foreign government and public leaders, diplomatic corps, top
business managers, representatives of companies and organizations that provide
their support for development of JA programs in Russia, educators, teachers and
students.
Honorable Rodney Irwin, The Canadian Ambassador to Russia, was pleased with
young Russian entrepreneurs’ success. “It’s wonderful to see young people
working at their company projects and doing so well. I certainly wish them all
very well”, - said Ambassador Irwin.
JA Russia’s students demonstrated their products and business skills to Mrs.
Lisa Vershbow who visited each student company’s stand at the Trade Fair in
Park Place.

JA Russia announced the outstanding representatives of JA
programs. Dr.
Victor Maximov, Sakhalin regional center, was nominated The Best JA
Russia Regional Director. Ms. Nadezhda I. Bykova, school # 1279, Moscow,
was nominated The Best JA Russia Teacher.

On behalf of the entire JA Russia the participants of the 3rd National
Student Company Trade Fair extended their very sincere thank you to all
individuals and organizations that provided their outstanding support for JA
programs development and expansion throughout Russia.

The Third National Student Company Trade Fair culminated with
the evening reception on occasion of the Tenth Anniversary of JA Russia hosted
by The US Ambassador to Russia, Mr. Alexander Vershbow and Mrs. Lisa Vershbow.

In 10 years of JA history in Russia
- Junior Achievement Russia expanded its programs launched throughout
Russia and built a regional network of 32 centers equipped with the Internet
classes;
- A non-stop JA business and economic curriculum grades 1st -11th was
created ;
- 10,000 teachers were trained in JA Russia’s 17 educational programs
for students age 6 to 17;
- Total number of JA students in Russia reached 1 979 000 within the
period of December 1991- December 2001.
